Welcome to Nursery!
We are so excited for you all joining us this year.
In nursery we spend our time inside our lovely room and outside in our outdoor area. We also have amazing grounds where we part take in outdoor learning on a weekly basis.
In our lovely room, we have access to water play, sand play, sensory play and lots of ways of junk modelling and mark making. Whilst we try to keep everyone clean, please be mindful nursery children will get messy.
In Nursery there are lots of different adults who are here to help you and chat to your adults about any worries too! Please feel free to have a chat at drop off or pick up time. Mrs Hillary is our Teacher, Miss Wardle (Mon-Wed) and Miss Robson are our Teaching Assistants.
Meet the staff
Mrs Hillary
Hello! I am Mrs Hillary. I have been at Catchgate since September 2024 and I am also the SENCo of the school too. I live in Consett with my husband and my 2 boys who are aged 13 and 6. I love going on walks and adventures with my family. I like visiting the beach and I also love baking!
Miss Wardle
Hello! I am Miss Wardle. I have been at Catchgate since September 2025. I am a qualified speech and language therapist and can't want to get to know all the children and families at Catchgate!
Miss Robson
Hello! I am Miss Robson. I used to be a student here at Catchgate and now I am training to become a teaching assistant. In my spare time, I like to go on walks and spend time with my friends.
Our Curriculum
Important Information
- Please make sure all children have spare clothes with them.
- Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled.
- Please ensure all children have a pair of wellies that are clearly labelled that can be left in school.
- Please ensure children come to school with a warm coat.
- Every Friday we will have a music session with Durham Music Service.
Please ensure all clothing and shoes are clearly labelled with your child's name so they can be easily reunited with them.
